Title: KDE Telepathy.
Post by: Taliesin on 2014/03/09, 23:41:39
Hi folks, I am currently attempting to get KDE Telepathy up and running.

After the initial installation (kde-telepathy metapackage and telepathy-gabble), I have managed to configure my accounts and connect.

Unfortunately I am unable to add contacts.

The "Add New Contacts" dialogue asks for a 'screen name' and nothing more occurs.

The contact list opens briefly then shuts down again.

Any suggestions ideas are most welcome.

Edit: I posted the same question on the official KDE forums and got a response.

The suggestion was that I make sure all libraries are up to date. KDE Telepathy was installed just after a recent d-u.

It was also asked which version of KPeople is installed, which I cannot find any reference to.

Is this known by another name in Debian?

A third option was that I set up KDE Telepathy in another account to see if it worked correctly.

All seemed good the contact list launched, and I was prompted to configure an account.

After configuring the caacount the same problem occured.

Cheers.
