Titel: lxde with systemd - pcmanfm problem.

I normally use KDE, but have a problem after I finally got round to updating an LXDE install on another partition.

Systemd appears to have installed OK.  "systemctl --failed" returns nothing. "systemctl  | grep device" shows all the disk partitions are recognised by the system.

My problem is that pcmanfm no longer sees the various partitions on my drives.  They are not listed under "places".  If you choose "go", then "devices", you see the partitions as device icons,  but these cannot be mounted.  In fact, no action can be performed via these icons.

Any ideas? Is this just a failure of pcmanfm (under systemd), or am I missing something on this install?

P.S I also changed from slim to lightdm - Could the problem be something to do with the session setup?  You can get authentications problems on partitioning mounting I think with pcmanfm when polkit and session setups get screwed up. But I've not come across my problem before.

I am no expert, in fact I am in deep water when it comes to understanding how the desktop apps fit with the authentication and policy management components, but I can say that I am running a fully updated Siduction system with systemd and LXDE. I just now opened my pcmanfm app and it shows my partitions as "Home Folder" and "Filesystem Root". There is no problem with clicking tose items and viewing their contents.  It also has "Desktop", "Network", and "Trash Can".

So, I don't think there is any inherent conflict between systemd and pcmanfm.

I'm talking about additional partitions on a drive which are not mounted at boot, e.g. my 2nd HDD has 4 data partitions , none of which show up under places in pcmanfm as they used to berfore updating to systemd.

I should have mentioned before that optical disks and usb sticks are not showing up either in pcmanfm after this update.

Yet, as far as I can tell udisk2 and gvfs are running as before:

Ok, I agree. Those things do not show up in mine, either. I have an external drive that should show three partitions, and sometimes other things are plugged in.

I'm not sure there's much interest in current LXDE now that it is to merge with razor-qt. [/size]As I wasn't prepared to waste time on what appears to a be a broken pcmanfm, I just installed thunar instead and added a couple of custom actions for my needs.

I won't mark thread [solved] for the moment.
