Title: New link: Debian Transitions
Post by: melmarker on 2015/05/05, 18:44:52
There are some ongoing transitions in debian - so i think it make sense to link the debian transition tracker to our forum - most popular transition right now should be https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/xserver1.17.html :)

Good information -- thanks!  All my systems will be waiting and watching -- I don't have time to fix broken video this week.

hmm - dunno which packages really needed on your systems mach64 and r128 can be safely removed on modern systems

Problem is, xserver-xorg-video-ati depends on that drivers and without that package, xserver can't load radeon without xorg.conf on amd systems.

I use the proprietary nVidia drivers, so, I probably don't need any of those files to be removed, but, during the transition, any files to be removed will have me waiting.

Thank you for the link, melmarker.  I've added it to my bookmarks database.  Good info to have when using Debian Unstable.
