One may notice that our page in Wikipedia (en) has been deleted. Imho it can stay that way because i don't have the time and nerves to struggle with those morons also called Blockwarts or Relevance-Nazis. If one is willing to stand up and bring Siduction to Wikipedia (en), please do so and recover our past page - or start a new one. So also in my not so humble opinion: What is wikipedia, is this relevant for me, would i waste time or money on it? Fuck, no, sorry Jimbo, that means no donations too. 8)
Hint: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semplice_Linux - Something like that might be a good start, anything else (more work) is a waste of time.
Hello,
as a first step i successfully requested the undeletion of that draft:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Siduction_%28Linux_distribution%29
So, if anybody feels adventurous, please jump into the cold water and start working on your first wikipedia article.
greetings
musca
[edit: Link corrected]
hey cool - nobody is interested in working on this wikipedia shit within two month after recovery - so lets delete it, it seems that our users nor someone else is interested in having us in wikipedia.en
EDIT: nice example how a community works, but it is alright, let the wikipedia morons win 8)
(and yes, i'm pissed)

Their criticism is, that there are no independant sources.
here is one
http://www.heise.de/open/meldung/Debian-Ableger-Siduction-2013-2-setzt-voll-auf-Systemd-2073982.html
Are there others?
I don't know how to put it, but Santa's work is pioneering for the KDE world. This does make us different / relevant in comparison to others.
Unfortunately I have no time to add this to wikipedia myself.
Greetings, C
Hi melmarker,
I had a look at it when musca referred to the script, thinking this may be something I could do. But sorry, I have no idea how to met the criteria this wikipedia guys are referring to, seeing lots of pages there with less information and less "reliable sources". As it also is a problem for me of having some spare time to waste for fullfilling some nebuluos rules which seem not so relevant on other pages I did consider not to try.
greets
ayla

Hello @cas,
are you sure, wikipedia-en will accept a german source? siduction has a german origin, heise-ct is a german magazine, so all this heise stuff isn't independent enough ;D
Kind regards,
Holger
When Alf made the original post I thought hard about taking up the wikipedia project -- theoretically I could put in the needed time. But siduction (i.e. sid) is evolving so quickly that I fear the writing would become obsolete as fast as it is submitted. I'm not sure what you could write that would still be true in 12 months, other than the few basic facts that are already published elsewhere. Just read through the siduction manual and you can find obsolete information. Maybe it's better to have no wiki article than to have one with wrong "facts". IMHO.
Hi All,
I don't know about the German, however here are a few I've found that might be of interest;
http://distrowatch.com/siduction
http://linux.softpedia.com/get/System/Operating-Systems/Linux-Distributions/siduction-78092.shtml
http://desktoplinuxreviews.com/siduction-reviews/siduction-11-1
Also found a personal page at;
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Pipersid
I don't know how many are needed or if you have seen these already or if they will even be helpful, but good luck in your efforts.
Respectfully,
T2
Hi,
I've spent a bit time to find something independant for Wikipedia and included a few external links to the draft, because I haven't really got it for citations. I hope it's ok for Wikipedia and sufficient to mark the page as notable.
I'm actually saving time doing no d-u's because of all the trouble, so I can spend it for this. Hope it helps.

I think you are right, and thats the reason why i think it should be done like the semplice hint from melmarker:

...

Its pointing out what semplice is! not less not more, and we should do it the same!
With all that references and other links that are collected, every $user can inform by themself.
All other is to much like dibl said, the changes are to fast and to often.
Okay, if some one is willing to do that job week by week it will be ok, if not, than make it short and dirty ;)
so collect links and references, add them to the wiki and trim down the text to the really important things .
Maybe copy the text from semplice, why not?

Well, Siduction is listed on the DistroWatch site with a couple of reviews referenced. Use of a search engine with the terms "siduction review" turns up a number of reviews. What benefit would a Wikipedia entry be anyway?
