Magic incantation for chromium users (i.e. Pepper Flash 18.0.0.160)
update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree --install --unverified
Another Tuesday, another Flash update. 11.2.202.468 and 18.0.0.194
For chromium and FreshPlayer users:
update-pepperflashplugin-nonfree --install --unverified
@michaa7: You should use /usr/local/lib. Dumping files into /usr/lib is not a good idea (actually, it's against Debian's filesystem policies).

Thanks, but isn't it /usr/lib where Debian flashplugin-nonfree installs the files since ages? My intention was simply to overwrite what is in place.
and again
Quoteinstalled version = 11.2.202.466
upstream version = 11.2.202.468
and again

and for pepperflashplugin-nonfree
QuoteFlash Player version installed on this system : 18.0.0.194
Flash Player version available on upstream site: 18.0.0.204[/quote]
It looks like all versions of Flash are now blocked by default in Firefox/Iceweasel.
Hell yes - one can have the latest plugin - but this isn't good enough for Mozilla. And so they handle it the only sensible way™ they know. These morons want me to klick on every flash animation i want to see? Ask me if i want to save this descision and don't respect it? WTF??? I'm more than a little bit pissed because the one and only person who make descisions about the software running on my computer is: ME!
http://www.ghacks.net/2015/07/14/mozilla-blocks-all-versions-of-adobe-flash-in-firefox/
So one can click it by hand if needed (thats what Mozilla allows in infinite goodness), don't use it (prefered) or stop these morons and deactivate the server-side automatic blocking of plugins (not recommend, but i prefer that)
To do so:
* about:config
* klick that you will be careful
* search 'blocklist'
* do what you want to do
@Melmarker:
1+++ to all you said. Especially the part about morons...
And thanks for the tipp to avoid that.
I changed from win to linux years ago to have the possibility to make my own chooses about the use of my software.
greets
ayla

Thanks for that tip, melmarker...I disabled the blocklist and all is well. Would be nice to be able to remove individual entries though
yes, i missed this too - that would be a sensible approach - or just allow the user to activate this special thing - and respect the users decision. And that is what makes me really angry, they don't respect my descision.
may we use the pepperflash plugin instead of the flashplugin? Is it "safe" (as in "adobe")?
ermh - aptitude show pepperflashplugin-nonfree
so it is chromium and compatible only i guess

This seems to be the case, yes.
Some weeks/month ago I read about a wrapper that allows to use pepperflash in iceweasel. Have not used it myself, know nothing about it or its status :), but here's a link: https://wiki.debian.org/Freshplayerplugin
pepperflash works in opera (opera-stable 30.0.1835.125) also for me.
