Hi All,
I am getting an error with the glx-alternative-nvidia package version, 0.6.91+nmu1, from the siduction repos. When I install it throws up a an error from dpkg about the install script exiting with error code -2. Rebooting without upgrading the package properly causes the desktop to not load correctly.
new debian packages are in buildd-unstable and will hit sid with next sync
btw - thanks for the warning, please provide at least one useful inforation with the fact that a postinstall script is broken - like adressed driver etc.
Sorry Melmarker,
Tried to upgrade before I departed for the weekend. The exact error I get is;

1 not fully installed or removed.

Setting up glx-alternative-nvidia (0.6.91+nmu1) ...
update-alternatives: error: alternative link /etc/modprobe.d/nvidia.conf is already managed by nvidia
dpkg: error processing package glx-alternative-nvidia (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
glx-alternative-nvidia
for now I just put glx-alternative-nvidia on hold, and was able to upgrade the rest of my system without issue.
This is really strange. I d-u-ed each of the last days and had no problems with glx-alternative-nvidia. But as I use a nvidia-legacy driver, I wonder whether or not there are packaging problems with the current driver? It seems this bug triggers not for all nvidia users.
