I don't think that there are many slim users here, but just in case, I would advise against updating to latest version.

older releases of the siduction-LXDE flavour might still use slim as login-manager.
An interesting bug, i think. (Freeze is boring, isn't it?)

Indeed, but as long as it does the job, I don't see a reason to switch to something else.
I don't remember what was my problem with lightdm, so maybe it's high time to try it again ;-)
@musca, indeed, I was quite shocked when first reload happened, got used to 'everything just works' too much
only a hint - sddm works just fine with LXDE - ok, it will bring some Qt dependencies, but LightDM is and can be pita from time to time - so i would suggest SDDM.
FYI, bug was marked as solved in version 1.3.6-5.1
I won't verify it as I already moved to sddm.
