As @piper says in his totally OT post here (https://forum.siduction.org/index.php?topic=6809.msg55490#msg55490), ;D a python transition is triggering removals which may or may not be damaging, depending on your configuration. Here on a plasma/KDE destop a couple of my needed packages (gimp and wicd-gtk) would be removed, so I will wait.
The following packages will be REMOVED:
gimp ntfs-config python-glade2 python-gtk2 python-notify python-numpy wicd-gtk zim
;)
No more removals here on Sat. morning.
https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/python3.6-supported.html
94% done.
python 2.7 seems to cause problems actually today.

Reiner
After @devil posted above, I let the full-upgrade go through, including the removals. Afterward, gimp and wicd-gtk were installable again.
I just completed d-u after holding off for a few weeks until transitions settled. Went perfectly with only one package removed - libgsl2.
Seems ok here too now.
