As I mentioned in a different thread (http://"https://forum.siduction.org/index.php?topic=9655.0"), I built a new PC to help with video encoding with an ASRock RX 6600 card.
I went with an AMD card to avoid dealing with nVidia drivers, but apparently you need some AMD drivers to have hardware acceleration with handbrake: https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/1.5.0/technical/video-vce.html
I don't remember these Radeon drivers being mentioned. Officially, they support Ubuntu, but not Debian.
Does anyone have any experience with these? Is it worth the effort?
If not, it seems that ffmpeg can use hardware acceleration... I could make a script, but my wife, who uses it the most, is used to handbrake.
Sorry, I can't help on this topic but, at the the top of the article it states:
QuoteThis article is for an older version of HandBrake.
we are currently version 1.9.2+ds1-1 for handbrake and Ubuntu 20.04 is about 5 years old now. I'm not sure any of this will work properly for you.

Thanks for the reply! I don't know why Google found the older version, but still is the case: https://handbrake.fr/docs/en/1.9.0/technical/video-vcn.html
