Title: Standard login manager Siduction with Xfce4, sddm or lightdm
Post by: Sidpiet on 2025/10/05, 18:21:29
Dear Siduction Forum,

I'm nearly new here in the forum and installed Siduction Shine Xfce4 via live usb stick and Calamares.

I found out that sddm is installed and active, not lightdm.

Is sddm a standard for Siduction?

I had some problems in the past with sddm and Xfce4.

Thank you!

Kind regards

Sidpiet

Yes, the "team" is partial to qt and KDE and use SDDM as the default login manager. You can easily switch to Lightdm by installing it and selecting it when asked. Afterwards you can simply remove SDDM. You will be left with a load of qt packages but can simply autopurge them to clean up. Don't forget to also install a greeter as well.
