Hi all,

i was on the way to rip a bought cd, convert it to flac and planned to burn it after, for use in the car.

Track 17 and 18 from 18 took more than an hour to rip without success / coming to an end. I ripped them seperately.
A raw medium has not been detected by k3b.

Any hints or help or experiences like this?

I would first suspect the CD quality.  Can you check performance on another CD or two?  Another suspect would be the optical drive itself.  It doesn't sound like a software problem to me -- the software should work the same for track 17 as track 1, if the data are read correctly.

Try "xcfa" for ripping and burn it with whatever you like.
Ok, you can't code, but you still might be able to write a bug report for Debian's sake

michaa7,

xfca as option in k3b or command line package?

neither, but "apt-get install xfca" will give you a very nice ripping tool with GUI.

sorry, didn't notice your posting earlier.
