Does Digikam 3.0 work in KDE 4.9.5?

I still have 2.6 installed and would like to test 3.0 from experimental.
Does that work?

If you not just playing but want real work to do, I would wait for digikam-3.x.
Problems with digikam-3 showed up in the kipi-plugins: For Gentoo the maintainers had to patch some upnp modules. And there are glu-opengl dependencies. I really doubt such is worked on in Debian-experimental. But you can look at the Changelogs there!

Digikam 3 needs KDE SC 4.10, which is not too far away for us, but not there yet.
It uses functions of kdegraphics >=4.10 and  ships a private version of the kdegraphics libs. It also conflicts with current libkipi8, libkexiv2-10, libkdcraw20 and libksane0. That can not be resolved at this point in time in debian.

@devil, for sure kde-4.10 not too far away :)

Kde-4.10.NULL with my Gentoo had a lot of hickups. After a couple of days there are a few patches for the worst bugs in that Gentoo portage-tree now. Might be following Kde-4.10.x will be bug fixed. Be happy not to experience that worse release!

Especially I was curious about the new indexing infrastructure: There are supposedly expected the most bugs. But I was quiet astonished about the simplicity of the bugs: Like it was not ever tested by nobody. As if the developer himself never tried ...
