Hello dear gnome friends!
When using the gnome-control-center printer settings you will see that all options are grayed out.
Even the "Add new Printer" button is inactiv.

Please install the package cups-pk-helper to get an unlock button.
Using this button you can authenticate as root to perform the printer setup procedure.

An alternativ method of printer configuration includes one of theese
- open http://localhost:631 in your browser
- install and run system-config-printer which is a frontend for the cups webinterface.
