After DU of aug. 2nd shutdown stops with:

radeon 0000:06:00.0: ring 3 stalled for more than 10000 msec
[drm:r600_lib_test] *ERROR* radeon:fence wait failed (-35)
[drm:radeon_lib_ring_test] *ERROR* radeon failed testing IB on GFX ring (-35)
[drm:radeon_resume_kms] *ERROR* ib ring test failed (-35)

Is there any possibility to shut down - except for pressing the power-button for more than 5 secs.?
Thanks for your advice in advance.

Greetings,
Jörg

hello Jörg,
Does your system still hang on shutdown? Please give us more information about your system (hardware and software).  The command "inxi -Fxxx" will collect a lot of it.

The new kernel 3.16 has reached our repos (thx towo`) and contains a new radeon module.
Is firmware-linux-nonfree installed?

$ dpkg -l | grep firmware-linux
ii  firmware-linux-free       3.3      all    Binary firmware for various drivers in the Linux kernel
ii  firmware-linux-nonfree    0.43     all    Binary firmware for various drivers in the Linux kernel

Did you try the "poweroff" command?

Hello musca,

after last update of yesterday with towo's new kernel 3.16, shutdown does not hang anymore (firmware-linux-free 3.3 & firmware-linux-nonfree 0.43 are both present). Anyhow, thank you for your kind help.

Greetings,
Jörg
