Problem running matlab

I try to run matlab but I get the following error
/ MATLAB: error while loading shared libraries: libXp.so.6: can not open shared object file: No search file or directory


I have to install libXp but it is not available.
Is something that I can do about that error message?

the package existis in jessie (oldstable)


i wonder which version of matlab that is you are trying to install.
