From the description, it sounds like it would only affect people using Synaptic or another GUI package manager that uses policykit.
I don't think most siduction users are affected by the bugs linked in the initial post. Comments?

I know of a few that were affected by the udev bug, where their udev version was one ahead of systemd even before the systemd upgrade.
