Uncluttering the forum

Hi there, some of you are probably wondering right now, what these mails from siduction in their inbox mean. The answer is: These are automatic notifications about changes in the forum. In this case, about moved topics that you started or which are observed by you.

As part of cleaning up the forum, vinzv has closed down the sub-forums for DE/EN. If you now open a board like Upgrade Warnings, you will see the following line at the top:

Code Select Expand

Filter Topics Based on Prefix: [DE], [EN], No Prefix, Show All Topics.


With this, you can define your preferences, which language(s) you want to see displayed here. The work on this is not finished yet, so you may receive more mails. Alternatively, you can unsubscribe from them.

Furthermore, the appearance of the editor has seen some love. I hope you like it, and we wish you peaceful holidays, however you may spend them.

Moving the topics is now done and all sub-forums (bug archive aside) are gone.

Furthermore, I updated the smilies used to something more "crispy":


Next thing I'm trying to clean up is the News/Announcements section.

Der neue Editor ist Fluch und Segen zugleich. Nein, ich will nicht auf den Level von EDLIN zurückgebombt werden, aber mir bereiten seitdem die Postings Probleme, die Text mit Farbinformationen enthalten.

Ihr könnt ja gerne mal testen, was ich da im Darkmode sehe. Richtig: Nichts! Schrift in #404040 auf Hintergrund #444444; das ist wie schwarze Fahrbahnmarkierung auf schwarzem Asphalt.
Ich weiß nicht, wie man das Problem effizient lösen kann, aber ich nutze den Darkmode nicht, weils gerade hipp ist.
Vielleicht hat ja jemand eine Idee.
