Stuck on 2021.3 "Wintersky" even after all the latest dist/full upgrades and the newest kernel I don't see anything for either 2022.? "Masters of War" or 2023.1 "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants" is there something I'm missing or not doing? Can't find or didn't do a very effective search in answering my question I would appreciate being pointed to some documentation to help bring me up to speed, thanks.  :-[

There's nothing wrong with that. The version information is perpetuated by the original installation in /etc/siduction-version. If you miss special things, like the artwork, you can install them later. Use
apt search giants --names only to see the packages.

This is the usual behavior. The name always stays the same although the system is upgraded. So you have "wintersky, fully upgraded".

tommy2

Well thank you both I can live with my Wintersky, just thought I might have been overlooking something possibly important. Again appreciate your replies. :)

E: Befehlszeilenoption »--names« kann in Kombination mit den anderen Optionen nicht interpretiert werden.
Ok, you can't code, but you still might be able to write a bug report for Debian's sake

ro_sid

It is "--names-only". Just a typo!

@ ro_sid and @ michaa7

Thank you, I've got enough information now to make me dangerous in bringing my system close to the current version "Release".

Yes, a typo has crept in.

Those who, like me, use the auto-complete function of Bash will not notice it at all.
