Hi, when I finally found out how to actually post a question, I'm just wondering what the process is to install DVDStyler? Do I need to install other packages ( it keeps going on about something to do with name? or something like that ). Do I have to do something on the Software Center? Or is it just command lines? And if so what? The sudo install type of thing just doesn't work: missing file operand after  'dvdstyler'? No idea what that means?
Fairly obviously a total newbie.
All the best,

Hi,
dvdstyler is not in the debian repositories, so it's not available with the apt method. If it was, the command would be sudo apt update && sudo apt install dvdstyler. You could also use Discover to do that with a GUI. Packages for dvdstyler on the other hand, need to be downloaded from https://pkgs.org/download/dvdstyler.

We have a detailed manual, which you find on your desktop. Please have a look at it, it also explains, how to install packages.

Maybe you can get it from the repo of the friendly frenchman  :)

Dvdstyler is available from the deb-multimedia repos. There is some controversy with using these repos but I leave that up to you. I have used it and never had an issue. Make sure to use the sid repos.

The best trick to do is enable the deb-multimedia.org repo only when needed to install a single package and disabling it once installed as trying to d-u with that repo enabled can and potentially will break things.

YMMV
