Wenn ich mit xnoise Musik abspielen will, meldet er nur:

GstError parsed: Die Unterstützungsbibliothek konnte nicht initialisiert werden

Ich denke, damit kann nur gstreamer gemeint sein, oder?
Im Terminal geht der Ausgabe auch noch ein

jack server is not running or cannot be started

vlc und der Standard-Test mit aplay geben problemlos Töne von sich. Ich habe noch einige gstreamer-Geschichten nachinstalliert, aber ohne Erfolg:

Es handelt sich um eine recht frische Xfce-Installation der jüngsten Dezember-Ausgabe (i386).  Was fehlt denn da noch? Welche von den unzähligen Jack-Paketen sollte denn das noch sein?

Do you actually use Jack?
It works well here but I use Phonon Gstreamer backend rather than default VLC backend. I also have more plugins. Volume and Equalizer may be muted at first start.

What version of siduction? I don't think Xnoise is installed by default.
Jack is a low latency sound server mainly used for audio production. Focus on the Gstreamer side of things as you probably don't need Jack.
Alternativeley, if you are on KDE, try Amarok, Clementine or QMMP instead of Xnoise.

Well... quod libet didn't want to play audio files either - it complained about jack missing. I don't get it.


So I tried another player - guayadeque - et voilà: no more complaining! As far as I am concerned, I rest my case at this point.


Still might be interesting to see if somebody can reproduce this bug. As melmarker points out correctly: xnoise is the standard audio player in 'december' (xfce).
