hi, I just tried to install siduction on my pc.
the first time I set for user and root the same password.
at first boot, login failed.

the second time, I've little changed passwords, but again, login failed for user and root.

how could it be fixed?

thanks a lot to all

Did you try to type the password as if you have an en_US american keyboard.
[rant]Somehow i often run into that problem[/rant]

The fix for that is to reconfigure console-common and
console-setupsu
dpkg-reconfigure console-common
dpkg-reconfigure console-setup

hi, thank you for your help.

I cannot get a /bash, I tried ctrl+alt+f1, alt+f2, alt+enter, and so on, but I stack on login window.
I tried also to edit boot options on grub, but neither init=/bin/bash or sh help me

michaaa62

For the grub line: To boot to console just add "3" without the " to the kernel boot line.

Does your keyboard work at all in siduction after grub-login?
How is your keyboard connected?
Does the keyboard need some special module loaded?

tino84

hi, no way to login neither with shell.
it's not a keyboard problem I think, because all keys match good.
it's an apple usb keyboard, never had a problem with it in various debian flavour and gnu/linux distro ( usually it's signed as generic intel-105 )

michaaa62

Did you try to connect the keyboard at another USB port?
Do you boot via CD/DVD or USB stick?
Did you verify the downloaded iso file?
Did you try to verify the burnt media

tino84

1- yes
2- DVD
3- yes
4 -yes

I think I'll try another re-install. is it possible to use the old debian text installer instead siduction graphical installer?

Hi

First of all welcome to siduction.
As you have saed I understand that you managed to install siduction but after reboot you can't login.
Try to see if keyboard work well first in live mode using logout. Login screen must be there and default passwd is live for user siducer.

Please tell us if you manage to relog in live mode first.
Also please verify to not be pressed CAPS-LOCK.

Thank you,
