No sound/video

I am a newbie on Linux (siduction).  My friend build me a computer with the following config:
cpu: unlocked (black) A8-5600K, 
mobo: GA-F2A75M-D3H 
ram: 2x2 GB Mushkin Blackline 2-channel DDR3 
psu: Enermax 485w. 
hdd: 1/2 TB Western Digital 
dvd-burner: Lite-On (internal) 
monitor: Samsung 2233SW 

Currently I have no sound or video and keep getting messages that I need to install the adobe flash player.  Should I be installing adobe flash player or does siduction have other drivers which are more suitable.

Any advice and instructions would be greatly appreciated.
