desktop pc with usb key for wifi.
randomly the wifi stops to work.  ???

the other pc and the phones still work...

the only solution I know is restart pc, and it's quite boring each time!!!
if you find the problem or a way to restart wifi without restart pc, it would be great! ;)

ps I have another problem that requires to restart the pc, don't know if related.
sometimes, the pc becomes very very very slow. it isn't like when the ram is full and programs and menus could not be open or closed, or are really slow.
in that case, mouse and keyboard are slow, I can close all programs, the ram is empty but mouse and keyboard still unusable!  :o

tell me if you need some more info!!! ;)

bluelupo

Hi dartex,
What chip uses your wifi stick? Which manufacturer? Are there any error messages of "journalctl"?

@dartex,

Your log just shows Network Manager connecting. Wait until you lose your connection again and then post the last few lines of the log. You might also want to post the output of "ifconfig" and "iwconfig" (run as root if you don't find them).

BTW Network Manager seems to need "arping" (probably to check the connection) but you don't have it. Just do apt-get install arping and at least this way you have one "issue" less.

dartex

this log would be the one just before lost connection yesterday, but if it happens again, I will copy it again.
it's absolutely random, sometimes it happens 3 times in a day, sometimes it doesn't appen all the day...

ps why do I need install arping if wifi "normally" works?
do I  have to install now, or do I wait it disconnect once again?

You don't need to install it. It's just that the log shows that Network Manager tries, fails, and reports failure of running, arping :)

Probably it's some option like "check if connection is OK" or something. Just forget about it if you want.
