I have unattended upgrades setup 3 times in case the first 2 fail, when I say "Yes" I mean Yes

apt full-upgrade --assume-yes x3  --enforce holds --overwrite --assume-yes if not --burn harddrive --assume-yes


This script.sh has never failed me, the hell with a cron job

just to make sure

dpkg-reconfigure -plow unattended-upgrades

Sorry, if I have peeved you. That is not my intention.
I was hoping to get an idea, how short time 'hold' during a transition period could brake a system. To learn I need to know some coherences.
So I beg your pardon for having been so insistant.

These two following rules are so crystal clear to every enlighted siduction user, but it doesn't hurt to repeat:
* Do not use synaptic!
* Avoid aptitude.
And a last one for guys like H*n*sch:
* It is your system, do what you want - if it breaks you can keep the pieces.
