Danke an das fünfköpfige Core Team (und natürlich ebenso an den Hausmeister), für die geleistete Arbeit und dem gerade noch letzten Release vor dem Ex von X11.
Ich hoffe, dass es meine letzte Distri bleibt.

Thank you!
The large update took place earlier today, but no signs of the new release are visible. The system shows it uses the version 2024. Shall we reinstall the system or what?
May the happiness be with you!

no, you don't need to reinstall, if you use apt udate followed by apt full-upgrade, than your system is up-to-date. If you want the newer artwork search for big-crime, that is the difference not more.
If you want a fresh clean new system, then you have to install it new, but there is no need for it if you already own a siduction or aptosid system, using full-upgrade is enough.

Thank you. I understand Siduction is a rolling relese, but what I want to know is if the number of the system will change from 2024 to 2026 during the update or it will never change? Does the new artwork will be installed automatically the way it is done, say, when EndeavourOS is updated? Or it will change only during the full reinstall of the system? Any visible changes for users who continue to use the Siduction without reinstallation?
May the happiness be with you!

Uh, nope.
The number of the system is needed to know for what system someone needs help.
And we don't want to diktat which wallpaper the user has to use, everyone can install the wallpaper with apt install, it is your choice.
There are no visible changes, by daily/weekly updates.
If there is a need for it, then you will register it, e.g. some drastic changes in sddm or grub, for example.

~$ inxi -S

Thank you for the info and I appreciate your position. Still I just want to see GRUB showing Siduction 2026.1 not 2024.1, and the same info in KED About the system tab. If there is new emblem of Siduction, I'd like to have it too. Can anyone tell me what to do, what commands to execute to make the info uptodate and to upload all the new art. Why not? We all need some change from time to time, even if the change is whistles and bows.
May the happiness be with you!

sudo apt install big-crime-kde-artwork big-crime-wallpapers will give you the artwork for kde. sudo apt policy big-crime* shows you all there is.
