Weil ich das jetz bei mir und anderen gesehen habe: Braucht man rar und unrar eigentlich wirklich unter Linux - ich hab das bewusst gefühlte Ewigkeiten nicht mehr in der Mache gehabt und im letzten Jahr eigentlich aus reiner Gewohnheit installiert.

Ach, ja stimmt den ipw2100 habe ich ja gar nicht mehr im Laptop. Fehlt nur noch die Option sich gleich eine Bitt/Haßmail an die Hersteller zu schreiben, das die doch bitte mal ihre Treiber etc. freigeben sollten.

Ich habe ab und an rar-Dateien und brauche dafür halt unrar, um die zu entwurschteln. Gabs von unrar nicht auch eine freie Variante?

So, der freie rar scheint zu tun, da man ja unter Linux von der "Notwendigkeit" befreit ist, externe Sicherheitskopien von gekauften Programmen anderer Leute aufzubewahren, sollte der ausreichend sein.
