[DE] noch ein cups Problem

Ich hab neue drucker (Officeet pro 8500 und einen LaserJet 1300 über USB an Printserver,einen futro s500 mit nox)

Auf meinen Desktops und Laptops kann ich den direkt am Netzwerk hängenden Officejet ohne Probleme einrichten (mit der hptoolbox). auf dem Futro kann ich den LJ1300 auch ohne Probleme einrichten, über das webinterface unter http://[ip-futro].631. aber trotzdem ich dort unter admin auch "share printers connected to the Internet" angehakt habe wird der Drucker auf den anderen Systemen nicht gefunden.
Früher war ich gewohnt, das solche Drucker auf den "Clients vollautomatisch gefunden wurden. Muss ich das jetzt auf jedem System local zu Fuß einrichten ? Das wäre echt lästig!

Bei der aktuellen cups-version ist das browsing aus dem daemon entfernt worden und in ein extra Paket gepackt worden, warum das sein muß weiß wohl nur der Geier oder so.

Ja, du sagst es. Was da im Augenblick mit cups passiert verstehe ich nicht. Mal sehen was sich die Leute von der Apfelwerkstatt noch so einfallen lassen.

Nur der Linux-mint laptop kann auch drucken. Der Rest mit siduction findet jetzt zwar unter localhost:631/printers die vom Server freigegebenen Drucker, aber wenn ich dann z.B. unter Libreoffice oder mit Iceweasel zu drucken versuche, passier nichts.

Das error_log von cups auf dem client hat mir auch nichts für mich verständliches erzählt. Werde mal schauen ob der Job vielleicht auf dem Server nen Error produziert hat.

Kennt jemand das Problem?

Wo stellt man denn keep alive ein? Warum funktioniert mit meinem LinuxMint  Client alles perfekt?

Ja. Ich hab in /etc/hostname jetzt auf dem Server futro.local.net
und auf den Clients z.B. siductionbox.local.net

hostname -d zeigt überall local.net
hostname -f siductionbox.local.net

Aber im Browser unter ip:631 finde ich tatsächlich noch dies ominöse .local

Hab ich da was überlesen, falsch verstanden ?

Du musst auch in der /etc/hosts den kompletten Hostname inkl. domain eintragen. Der Schuldige für das .local ist der avahi-daemon auf deinem Printserver. Ich hab das auch nicht auf Anhieb geschnallt.

Das hab ich dann auch gemacht, aber unter http://localhost:631/printers tauchten die Drucker dann auf, ohne das man sie durch anklicken öffnen konnte, um z.B. eine Testseite zu drucken. Das ging erst als ich in der cups-browsed.conf "BrowsePoll 192.168.3.222:631" gesetzt habe. 192.168.3.222 ist die IP der Nox Printserverbox. Spricht etwas gegen dies BrowsePoll ? Netzlast?

auf siduction sind die ersten beiden Zeilen der /etc/hosts

127.0.0.1   localhost
127.0.0.1   siductionbox
geändert in
127.0.0.1   localhost
127.0.0.1   siductionbox.local.net

merkwürdigerweise behinderte der folgende Eintrag auf dem Client das ganze:

192.168.3.222 futro.local.net

nach entfernen dieses Eintrags geht es dann wieder, weiß der ....
weshalb.

auf Mint
127.0.0.1    localhost
127.0.1.1    mintbox

Wobei Mint damit aus dem Stand die Drucker gefunden hat und ich auch drucken konnte. Dort sind auch einige cups-Pakete installiert, die ich in Debian/Siduction nicht gefunden habe.

Es geht jetzt scheinbar, aber restlos verstanden hab ich das alles nicht. Danke erst mal für Eure Hilfe.

ich wäre mit dem eintrag von tatsächlich vorhanden TLD sehr vorsichtig. Ich halte es auch für überflüssig.

Denk dir doch einfach einen *gruppennamen* aus, beispielsweise (vom unterstellten familienename Mayer abgeleitet) mayernet, in dem es folgende rechner gibt: siduxbox, schltop, tombox.

Dann sehen deine einträge so aus:

merkwürdigerweise behinderte der folgende Eintrag auf dem Client das ganze:

192.168.3.222 futro.local.net
...

Was auch immer futro ist, weiss das teil dass es so heisst?

BTW: verwendest du dhcp? Hast du getrennte bereiche für dhcp und fixe ips?

Hallo zusammen,
das zweimalige 127.0.0.1 kann man sich doch sparen. Bei mir ist es so in der /etc/hosts:

# homezone.net
192.168.178.1           fritzbox.homezone.net                   fritzbox
192.168.178.10          polarfox.homezone.net                   polarfox
192.168.178.33          printer.homezone.net                    printer
[...]


Meine Domain ist homezone.net und wird auch richtig aufgelöst. Alle Clients haben eine feste IP - kein DHCP aktiviert.
