Hi

after a DU some days ago, I can´t watch tv with kaffeine. The channels are gone; the channellist is in .kde/apps/kaffeine, there was no change. It seems if kaffeine wouldn´t recognize the list.
When I try to get thechannels again:

kaffeine

20-06-16 12:59:22.409 [System  ] DvbManager::loadDeviceManager: using built-in dvb device manager

20-06-16 12:59:30.409 [System  ] DvbDevice::frontendEvent: tuning failed for freq= 1951.5 MHz

It looks like a hardware problem. But on the same pc I got an "old" paintinblack, and kaffeine works without problems.

any ideas?

Hmm,

I also have strange problems with kaffeine since nearly a week.
I normally watch/record tv via the astra-satellites.
Now Astra 19e seems to be gone completely and on Astra 23e and 28e I get channels scanned but only on a few of them I really can receive tv (BBC World, and two Al Jazeera Channels).

As I was convinced on an hardware-problem I ordered another tv-sat card which will hopefully arrive tomorrow.
Will the report on the outcome.

Same here,

but it should be a strange coincidence if a hardware failure appears two times at the same time. Btw as I wrote, with an old kde-install it works.

Same here,
new kaffeine packet does problems, back for the old version.

ReinerS

Well, here solved an older version (from stable) the problem too. :-\

Thats bad news:
Debian Bug report logs: Bugs in package Kaffeine in unstable There is no maintainer for Kaffeine. This means that this package no longer exists (or never existed). Please do not report new bugs against this package.
Looks like we might have to move onto towards an replacement.

https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/kaffeine - i guess i live in a parallel world and use another incarnation of debian

EDIT: in my world there is a bug about behaviour filed: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=827533

Re:"i guess i live in a parallel world and use another incarnation of debian"

Maybe that is true ;-)

The statements I had found were when I looked for announcing that error within debian.

So hopefully your "world" is the real one.

Edit: This post looks familiar to me. It was actually on the pager where my posted statements were taken from (on the very top).
See:https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?dist=unstable;package=Kaffeine

But hopefully I did just misunderstand this. ;)

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?dist=unstable;package=kaffeine -- one should avoid Kaffeine :P

EDIT: Sorry, couln't resist

hmm, I am quite puzzled, the page obviously has changed since yesterday, which may be good. ???

I am looking actually more deeply into tvheadend and kodi.
