absolut

in my case (intel modesetting driver) plasmashell hangs when i am copying files to / from a USB flash drive and am looking at the progress bar in the plasma notification area

GoinEasy9

I can report that both LXQT install on my eeepc and the KDE install on the desktop have survived a long due update tonight.  Phew, glad that's over. At least for me.

I've delayed a du with this issue. Is it safe to du with intel modesetting driver? Is the problem absolut has seen with USB file copying a general problem?

Lanzi

It seems save, since here both problems have vanished!

CCarpenter

... seems to be save here too ... du runs very smooth.

Thanks - everything looking OK here

I still have tha same issue as before, (https://forum.siduction.org/index.php?topic=7181.msg58229#msg58229) I have to downgrade xserver to be able to come in to x. Maybe it's another problem on that computer?

Ninefix

Here the issue is almost vanished, BUT rarely KDE plasmashell has a problem; all icons become illegible like a broken lcd monitor; the system still works without problem..

For restore plasmashell, I can type in a terminal: kquitapp5 plasmashell && kstart plasmashell

Someone else here has the same problem?

When I read all the posts I am not sure if I can do a du or if it is better to wait. Are all the problems with xorg solved?
I use Xfce on my laptop with integrated intel grafic.

All my computers are working except the one with nvidia graphics. I can se that you have a T420s harley-peter, my T420 with intel graphic are one of them working without problems.

harley-peter

Thanks for the infos. After a great du everything seems to work fine.  :)
