Perl transition 5.34.0-5 => 5.36.0-4
« on: 2022/10/19, 10:19:45 »
Augen auf beim full-upgrade! Es könnten eine Menge Pakete entfernt werden!

Code: [Select]
The following packages will be upgraded:
   perl (5.34.0-5 => 5.36.0-4)
   perl-base (5.34.0-5 => 5.36.0-4)

Entweder nur ein apt upgrade durchführen oder besser perl und perl-base auf hold setzen.

Code: [Select]
# apt-mark hold perl perl-base
Watch out for the full-upgrade! A lot of packages could be removed!
Code: [Select]
The following packages will be upgraded:
   perl (5.34.0-5 => 5.36.0-4)
   perl-base (5.34.0-5 => 5.36.0-4)
Either just do only an apt upgrade or better put perl and perl-base on hold.

Code: [Select]
# apt-mark hold perl perl-base

Nach einem
Code: [Select]

After an
Code: [Select]
apt-mark unhold perl perl-baseI was able to do an apt full-upgrade again without removing or holding back a package.

Be careful though, as you may have other dependencies.

As of this morning, the transition appears to be complete, and d-u proceeds with no removals. (120+ packages updated).

During a transition when multiple packages are flagged for removal, there's no need to wait or hold packages. Just perform an apt upgrade instead of an apt full-upgrade. Tip courtesy of Devil a year or two ago. Works wonderfully for me.
