by the way, this page doesnt display REPLAY, ADD POLL.... buttons in Maxthon browser, I had to login in Firefox to answer
what is maxthon - and why should we take care of it? This is not polemic nor ironic - if maxthon has such problems it should be in the maxthon settings or in their code - and one can work the issue out and present a fix.
Maxthon is based on Chromium (chromium/chrome extensions work in MX)
I use now 'emergency pendrive' lubuntu-14-04 live-USB-persistent where chromium doesn't work at all so I installed maxthon 1.0.1.10
I wonder if chromium handles this page properly
And that is why i ask

Test in Maxthon:

So i really don't understand the problem - beside the fact that i don't like the idea that my maxthon profile is saved at my.maxthon.cn - but that is one thing one must decide on his own.

I wasnt logged in
hahaha
I was fooled by 'green led' next to my username.
The green led was 'on' because I was online in firefox.
Hello mt12345,
if you want your hardware issues to be fixed in some future release you really should start working on them, not just avoid.
greetings
musca
old intel video chipset in thinkpad X30 is no longer supported in xorg (i810), that's the problem.
I'm limited to old linux releases.
according to package description, the intel driver supports i810...

are you sure that it is the driver and not some settings issue (maybe driver acceleration setting in the xorg.conf)?
Zitataccording to package description, the intel driver supports i810
well it doesnt any more. few months ago when I did dist-upgrade I ended up with black screen.I did some googling and it turned out my chipset is no longer supported. Thanks guys for help but I dont really need latest os on this machine. This laptop is old slow and partially broken, it has only 3 jobs to do: play music, download torrents and share internet connection. so even debian squeeze would suffice. Im typing from another Thinkpad, X60s which runs linux without issues but is going to be sold this week, time to upgrade!
OH DEAR
firestarter doesnt work either.
I get black screen with mouse coursor.
when I boot in safe gfx mode I get this amazing vaporizing effect:

well this is getting off topic...
Install firmware-linux-nonfree on the live-image, then install siduction to harddisk.

I cant boot into desktop!
you mean remaster iso??
Boot to init 3 is enough.

from livecd? there is no such option.
besides, I dont think I will be able to setup internet connection because Im on mobile broadband (usb modem)
sigh.
all this is doable.
greetz

Zitatall this is doable.
no doubt.
guess what:
I managed to boot and install siduction december but internet sharing doesnt work.
then I installed crunchbang (wheezy) and it works.
sigh
I miss Amiga.
anyway, where are config files for network manager (nm-applet) ?
Here (http://awesome.naquadah.org/wiki/Nm-applet).
However, did you try ceni?
And wicd-gtk works good on siduction LXDE -- that is what I use.
I like Ceni very much!
however:
my old laptop is connected to internet via mobile phone.
(usb modem - ppp0 - not 'usb tethering' known from android phones!)
and is sharing connection through eth0 to router.
(few other devices are connected to the router wired and wirelessly)
Ceni doesnt have usb modem connections, wicd doesnt have sharing option so I use nm-applet (network-manager-gnome?)
I could connect to internet using wvdial but my nokia is dropping connection (it was working fine with Samsung phone but I dont have it).
Oh, found config files:
/etc/NetworkManager/system-connections/
