what is maxthon - and why should we take care of it? This is not polemic nor ironic - if  maxthon has such problems it should be in the maxthon settings or in their code - and one can work the issue out and present a fix.

Maxthon is based on Chromium (chromium/chrome extensions work in MX)
I use now 'emergency pendrive' lubuntu-14-04 live-USB-persistent where chromium doesn't work at all so I installed maxthon 1.0.1.10
I wonder if chromium handles this page properly

So i really don't understand the problem - beside the fact that i don't like the idea that my maxthon profile is saved at my.maxthon.cn - but that is one thing one must decide on his own.

Hello mt12345,

if you want your hardware issues to be fixed in some future release you really should start working on them, not just avoid.

old intel video chipset in thinkpad X30 is no longer supported in xorg (i810), that's the problem.
I'm limited to old linux releases.

absolut

according to package description, the intel driver supports i810...

are you sure that it is the driver and not some settings issue (maybe driver acceleration setting in the xorg.conf)?

mt12345

Zitataccording to package description, the intel driver supports i810

well it doesnt any more. few months ago when I did dist-upgrade I ended up with black screen.I did some googling and it turned out my chipset is no longer supported. Thanks guys for help but I dont really need latest os on this machine. This laptop is old slow and partially broken, it has only 3 jobs to do:  play music, download torrents and share internet connection. so even debian squeeze would suffice.  Im typing from another Thinkpad, X60s which runs linux without issues but is going to be sold this week, time to upgrade!
