Habe mir ein Acer Travelmate 8472G gekauft, aptosid installiert und bekam gleich die Warnung, dass non-free zu den Quellen hinzu muss. Brachte aber nichts, da ceni schon nicht bereit war eine Verbindung herzustellen.
Laut lspci habe ich Ethernet Controller Bradcom NetExtreme BCM57760 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe

Außerdem wohl einen Broadcom BCM43225 802.11 Wlanchip.
Letzteren habe ich noch nicht versucht.

Wie komme ich nun ins Netz?

ich denke du mußt dir die entsprechende firmware separat per usb stick herunterladen

hmmm, also auf der Debianseite gibt es nichts explizit zum 57760. Habe alle die dort awaren mal geladen und in /lib/firmware kopiert. reboot, dann ceni... nichts.
modprobe tg3 brachte auch nichts.

Diesem Text nach, ist der Treiber im Kernel (habe 2.6.39.3

also fehlt doch nur die firmware, oder?
finde aber keine. Hat jemand eine, die er mir senden kann?
Oder muss ich die explizit im Verzeichnis /lib/firmware noch "alktivieren" oder so?

modprobe ist, wie viele commands, im erfolgsfall stumm und moppert nur, wenns schief ging.

Internet ist aber nach wie vor nicht da.

Ich habe ebenfalls mein DSL-Router/Modem-Easybox jetzt fitgemacht für Wlan. Leider findet ceni kein Wlandevice... Also scheint da sogar der Treiber zu fehlen.

Eines von beiden (Ethernet oder Wlan) sollte doch irgendwie aktivierbar sein...

Also, habe mittlerweile Wlan am Laufen, mit dieser Lösung:

in Kürze:
Update the list of available packages and install the firmware-brcm80211 and wireless-tools packages
dann mit dpkg -i installieren, ceni aufrufen

Was muss ich jetzt laden, damit auch Ethernet geht?

Hi Lanzi,
wenn das Ethernet noch nicht geht brauchst du auch dafür auch eine Firmware. Ist leider ein ACER-Übel (ist bei mir genauso) von dem ich schon vor 3 Jahren betroffen war :-(
