I used to love KDE3 and then they started their trek to KDE4 and it was a broken hellscape for me so I gave up and started using LXDE. Well after quite some time, I thought I'd check on KDE4 again, and i was pretty stunned. It's fairy impressive how much progress they've made in such little time. I really missed alot of features.  I wish it was lighter weight, but really feels like a modern OS now.

Regardless, on to the point. I've become enamored with the idea of using Firefox sync to keep my bookmarks and addons in sync accross machines.  Iceweasel seems stalled on progressing at the moment, so I'm thinking of installing the Mozilla Firefox tar alongside Iceweasel hopefully to satisfy any dependencies. Is that a good way to go, or is there a better recommendation?

I thought about switching to chromium, but keeping chromium up to date on Windows seems to be an iffy proposition.

Well, the easier was for sure is to add mozilla-debian-repo to your sources. That brought me 19.0a2 (2012-11-30) the other day. But you can also settle for a stable 17.

Thanks for another useful tip Devil. Running from the mozilla-debian-repo has been great.
