I don't see the clues in the manual or Debian wikis -- does anyone know how to update the slim login splash (I have the new "Riders" artwork)?

Thanks!

If you have solved this yet, I would be very interested in hearing about it.

Thank you,

Hi!

Select the suitable wallpaper in /usr/share/wallpapers/siduction-ridersonthestorm*.png (mind having our wallpapers' package updated) and copy it (as root, else it won't work) to /usr/share/slim/themes/siduction/background.png. After restarting slim (by e.g. as root /etc/init.d/slim restart) the chosen wallpaper should appear as login screen background.

Maybe we'll have that done automatically after new releases in future.

Based on your suggestion, here is what I did to try to keep things "sane":

1) mkdir /usr/shr/slim/themes/siduction-ridersonthestorm
2) cd /usr/shr/slim/themes/siduction-desperado
3) cp panel.png slim.theme ../siduction-ridersonthestorm
4) cp /usr/share/wallpapers/siduction-ridersonthestorm-really-wide.png ../siduction-ridersonthestorm/background.png
5) Edit /etc/slim.conf, changing current_theme from siduction-desperado to siduction-ridersonthestorm

This works perfectly and keeps the ridersonthestorm configuration analogous to the way things were before.

timc: the sane way is to use debians alternatives system for such things.

Thank you, agaida. I am pretty new to Debian. I will try to research that functionality.
