lanzi

+1

Thanks that for the most part sorted my problems although selecting Settings-> Workspace Appearance and Behaviour -> Workspace Appearance doesn't work (it crashes).

packages.siduction.org is fixed too.

@clubex: some packages are not available in kdenext atm. And there will be some bugs too. (ok, thats why kdenext is a sync from experimental-snapshots) This means in other words, in this shape is kdenext far from production ready or complete. But most of the parts work ok. Welcome to the bleeding edge part of siduction :)

That last update fixed my problems

agaida: Been there for years now as slam (remember him!) will vouch for . Experimental repos have got me out of many a jam in the past. You just need to be careful.

Thanks to Santa and his helpers for making these...feels like Xmas has come again :)

Bangarang is suddenly crashy. Other than that, I don't find any issues after using 4.9.5 for normal tasks.

I finally got a chance to put 4.9.5 on the desktop.  All seems to be working great.  Thanks to all that facilitated this.

Tomorrow we update all the other installs.  Very nice.

This morning's boot has the pager (desktop switcher) marked as unknown widget. On re-installing the pager it works fine. Reboot and it's again marked as unknown widget.

I would have thought a pager to be essential unless it's been replaced by a some other widget/method.

Anyone else experienced this problem or know of an alternative pager?.

To answer myself:
Settings -> Workspace Appearance and Behaviour -> Workspace Behaviour -> Switching. Check Desktop Switch On-Screen Display.

This brings up a display showing which desktop is being displayed and which one it moved from. For me it's not as good an indicator of which virtual desktop I'm on but it's better than nothing.
