wine+wavelab: mixer

anyone using wavelab (v4.0) with siduction/wine?

I can record sound from the mic, but I have problems adjusting the mic level (no mixer *in* wavelab available). The recorded sound level is far from being *strong* although I hold the mic close to my lips. I sounds like a voice somewhat distant from the mic.

In wine config system standard (alsa) was chosen automaticly. Do I need to install a sound card driver in wine? Any other hint how to raise the mic level (other than using the system mixer)?
