New mail app recomended?

Hi all,

the new RC does not come with kmail:

Kmail also is not offered in the Kmenu.

So, did siduction gave up this app?
To what mail app do we have to migrate to?

Today after overnight, kmail woke up:

This looks strange, as I did not touch the sources and yesterday no candidate was there (see above).

Installation however is not possible, I did not touch the sources definition:

This smells as a new inst from dvd instead one from stick (providing  half job as i have right now) may have the chance to succeed?

Installing from stick or DVD makes NO difference at all. You need to make sure your ISO is ok. (md5sum)

Is it possible, that the sources were confused or weren't avail during inst?

Your output of apt-cache policy kmail tells us, your sources are wrong!
And because of that, the install can't work, since you would install an older version of kmail.

Using "http.debian.net" is a good idea. I am using it since years now. But one should make the entry right:

deb http://http.debian.net/debian sid main contrib non-free

You may omit "contrib non-free" if you don't need flashplayer or proprietary drivers.

These sources come originally from the inst via usb-stick. I'll go the dvd way to reinst.
