No it's not possible because mate isn't in debian (yet?).

you could by yourself try out siduction and mate by using their own unofficial debian repository http://wiki.mate-desktop.org/download

the question is, what dependencies mate has and if this will work out with debian sid...

btw, this thread fits more in the "experimental" section.

Currently I use Siduction with mate-desktop without any problems.
I've used Siduxtion with Lxde for long time and I was very happy.
But last version Mate-desktop is very stable, responsive, complete and now I'm wondering when Siudction iso will be integrated with Mate-desktop.

For sure not before Mate is in official debian repo and even then, i don't think we will ship an iso with mate
because of limited manpower for developing this thing.
