Is there a reason why systemsettings in siduction is still version 4.11.8 whereas KDE SC is 4.12.4? I just looked into Mint 16 with KDE SC 4.12.3 and it has systemsettings 4.12.2 so it must be available.

Why? Are you interested in special new functionality or just version numbers?

Following this thread , as santa mentioned there not every package belonging to KDE needs or will get a 4.12.x number but could stay at 4.11.x during the livetime of KDE SC 4.
Perhaps Mint does its own re-numbering for some compatibility reason, as I cannot find any systemsettings 4.12x neither at debian nor ubuntu(-backports)?

No, I was just wondering. And by the time I was writing the question I thought there was a bug which seemed to be fixed in the Mint version.

@der_bud: Might be, Kubuntu also uses 4.12.2...

And no, it is not important.

The kde people had changed their numbering policies - so now upstream numbers will only given if somthing really changes - its a good descision imho. There will no longer be a monolitic KDE SC X.Y.Z.

OT,  as not siduction related and of course not important, but interesting to test ;): What is the ppa you use to get systemsettings 4.12 in Kubuntu? I have a Trusty with KDE 4.12.93 but systemsettings still 4.11.8, found no newer version available. Could you post me an "apt-cache policy systemsettings" from your kubuntu- or mint-machine?  /OT

@der_bud: Somehow the 'buntus fooled me... When I look at systemsettings - Help - About systemsettings it says "Version 4.12.2" in Mint/Kubuntu where in siduction it says "4.11.8" - so I believed it. But now I have  consulted "apt-cache policy" and THAT says in Mint and Kubuntu systemsettings package really is 4.11.6-0ubuntu13.10-ppa2 from saucy backports. So they actually have their own numbering... Bloody b...s ;)
