From Debian sid to siduction?

Following the No root access in live mode thread, I tried many siduction liveCDs but only the noX one would allow to become root.


Now, I wonder how far is Debian Sid from siduction?!?? I mean is it possible/easy if I install Sid  first (from the netinstall mini.iso)  and from there switch to siduction? I couldn't check the manual as it's offline right now.

If you can boot noX live CD and become root, and if you have the current firmware-linux-nonfree package (correct architecture) on a USB stick, then it seems like you can (a) install the firmware and then (b) run ceni and get connected to the 'net, then (c) proceed to install and configure siduction on that Dell as you wish.  Am I overlooking something?

No, you don't. I just wondered if it could be simple as I could start with Debian stable instead with a DE right away. But it's fine, I'm gong with noX. I'm setting up LVM right now.


BTW, I can connect wired but noX can't get a dhcp lease right away. But since I can su, it was quitte simple to Ceni.

No, you definitely do NOT want to start with Debian stable.  But it sounds like you have the situation under control -- post back if there are more issues.
