Had a different sid install with mpv -  and with deb-multimedia enabled in /etc/apt/sources.list  It worked sweet with openg with my weird gpu on amd-c50.  Cut to chase, I added in the debmultimedia repo for sid to a new folder in /sources.list.d.  Update went well.

1.  If I'm wrong correct me - it is libav for default on siduction.  2. They mimic ffmpeg, symlinks, etc.  at this point in their development.  For a dist-uprade after updating I get

Calculating upgrade... Done
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  ffmpeg libaacplus2 libavdevice56 libfaac0 libfdk-aac0
  libmowgli-2-0 libpostproc53 libswresample1 libvidstab1.0
  libx265-35 mesa-vdpau-drivers
The following packages have been kept back:
  libpam-systemd libsystemd0 systemd systemd-sysv
The following packages will be upgraded:
  libav-tools libavcodec56 libavfilter5 libavformat56
  libavresample2 libavutil54 libbasicusageenvironment0
  libbluray1 libchromaprint0 libdca0 libdvbpsi9 libebml4
  libguess1 libmatroska6 libmp3lame0 librtmp1 libswscale3
  libx264-142 libxvidcore4 moc mpv vdpau-va-driver

Am I correct in assuming that when it states ffmpeg will be installed that it will be actually installing llibav?
I attempted a dpkg hold on ffmpeg and got
dpkg: warning: package not in database at line 1: ffmpeg
dpkg: warning: found unknown packages; this might mean the available database
is outdated, and needs to be updated through a frontend method

thanks
