Just an FYI for those using iceweasel 35 from experimental. It went from 35.0.1 to 35.0.1-1.  There's nothing exciting in the changelog, but, I upgraded, and, everything is working fine.

apt-get -t experimental install iceweasel

absolut

since more than a year i am using the http://mozilla.debian.net/ repository for iceweasel.
the repository gives you the option of installing the beta or aurora versions of iceweasel via apt. they also seem to be very stable

Hello mozillians!

In this case experimental means nothing bad. The normal "release" channel (35.x) only remains in experimental, because debian stable uses the ESR channel (31.x) and its packages need to go through unstable on their way to testing.
Even the "aurora" packages are in a useable state (well, at the moment, i should add).

$ LC_MESSAGES=en_US apt-cache policy iceweasel
iceweasel:

Is Iceweasel Aurora the same as the Firefox Developers edition now?

Nope, Iceweasel (or Firefox) Aurora is a regular browser and the first incarnation after the nightlies.

True and not true, as it depends on what you mean with 'regular browser'. Aurora is a usable verion after passing nightly, but it is still pre-beta, so yes it is the Developer Edition. From wikipedia:
Quote from: wikipedia
...The "Aurora" build is up to six weeks behind "Nightly" and offers functionality that has undergone basic testing. As of version 35, the "Aurora" channel has been renamed to the "Developer Edition" channel.[55][56] The "Beta" channel is another six weeks away. It provides improved stability over the nightly builds and is the first development milestone that has the "Firefox" logo. "Release" is the current official version of Firefox.
...
Test builds can be downloaded from the Firefox development channels: "Beta", "Developer Edition" (former Aurora) and "Nightly" (Central). As of January 13, 2015, Firefox 36 beta is in the "Beta" channel, Firefox 37 alpha is in the "Aurora" channel, and Firefox 38 pre-alpha is in the "Nightly" (Central) channel...

and MozillaWiki:
Quote from: MozillaWiki
Aurora is a channel between the nightly builds from mozilla-central and beta versions from mozilla-beta; as such its status is roughly "experimental".
From my experience, it is mostly usable and no problem for people driving their production machines with Sid  ;)

I have been using Aurora for quite some time without serious problems. Just now seen the change to 'Firefox Developer Edition'. But that, to my understanding, is a separate browser dedicated to dev-tools and web design.

Hello,

yesterday i downgraded from aurora (37.0~a2+20150201004024-1) to release (35.0.1-1) , because hangs in youtube videos (i dont use flash).
The nvidia driver may be the real culprit, but for now my issue is solved.

Of course i will update again to next aurora version ;-)
