Problem with dolphin autostart when opening inserted device

Hello,

3 days ago I made a du over this machine, but did the previous one last week, so it's about something recent.

This is by KDE flavour.

When I insert whatever USB storage key it appears correctly notified in the taskbar by Device Notifier widget. When I eventually select it and choose to open it with dolphin, instead of dolphin window I get a small window with the "X window" logo icon on the left which says in its title "Error...t KIO" (cannot enlarge it) and then under "malformed URL".

The key, if I open dolphin manually, appears (and is) correctly mounted. So the problem is just with dolphin autostart, not with mounting.

When I use the widget to unmount, everything goes smooth as usual.

Might it be some misconfiguration imported by some KIO package?
Should I delete some file inside .kde/ directory?

cna you please check for installed ḱio-apps?dpkg -l | grep kio

Pip

I get the same thing, the malformed url. Should I have kio-apps?

dpkg -l | grep kio | awk '{ print $2 }'

Same issue here and same kio apps as Pip. Last d-u was Feb 17 when all the kf5 bits were updated.

There is one relevant bug which was first reported 16 months ago for Plasma 5.7.5 with no fix reported.
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=370975
It seems to be a regression as I don't recall ever having the error before last d-u.
The message can be avoided by enabling automount for the device in System Settings.

mash

Same problem here with krusader as default file manager.
when it was hard to write it should be hard to read

sunrat

I did d-u last night and tried 3 different USB devices and disabled automount. So far it hasn't shown the error message today.

Pip

I just did a d-u and still have the error message.

Pip:
I don't have a problem with dolphin and the only kio difference between us is that I don't have the kde-zeroconf package. Perhaps this info might direct you to the solution of your problem. eg. remove or reinstall kde-zeroconf.

sunrat

zeroconf is for networking. Unlikely to be related to device-manager.

I also had once a correct behaviour, but immediately afterwards the bug showed up again.
