There should be more info from apt than what you posted

mrsarmitage

that is correct:

"dpkg: Fehler beim Bearbeiten des Archivs  /var/cache/apt/archives/mesa-va-drivers_18.0.3-1_amd64.deb (--unpack): Versuch, /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri/nouveau_drv_video.so zu überschreiben, welches auch in Paket vdpau-va-driver:amd64 0.7.4-dmo6 ist
dpkg-deb: Fehler: einfügen subprocess was killed by signal (Datenübergabe unterbrochen (broken pipe)
Fehler traten auf beim Bearbeiten von: /var/cache/apt/archives/mesa-va-drivers_18.0.3-1_amd64.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

apt --fix-broken-install leads to the same error

Ich vermute, du hast deb-multimedia.org (dmo) in deinen Sources.
Das Repo ist hier nicht gern gesehen und kann auch nicht von siduction-Entwicklern supportet werden.

All 4 of my machines are custom built by me using pyfll (2 kde,  1 budgie, 1 lxqt), all 4 have the same repo's

My pure debian sid has the same repo's minus the siduction stuff, again, no problems

EDIT: apt is telling what is wrong

apt purge vdpau-va-driver

apt clean

apt update; apt full-upgrade

apt install vdpau-va-driver

Not sure why your vdpau-va-driver didn't upgrade to 0.7.4-dmo8 to begin with, but that is the problem

thank you piper.
I thought about purging vpau driver but didn't dare. The multimedia repo was actually commented out. I have then reinstalled using the new release enjoying the calamares installer. Sic.
