Where ist the "Boot-logfile" located?

After installing a new kernel (5.1.15) I saw during the boot process a short message in red letters.
Too quick for me to read it.
I have checked a lot of files in /var/log/ but could not find the file where all the messages during the boot process are written.

Where do I have to look?
