Currently, d-u seems to break nvidia, system is dropping me to text console.
So probably better to wait a bit on systems with nvidia card.
Trying to reinstall nvidia-driver gives complaint about missing / outdated firmware file.

apt install nvidia-driver

As of yesterday, nvidia-driver 535.xxx and its dependencies were not complete (nvidia-kernel-dkms "held back"). So you need to stay with 525. If you're using the siduction "fixes" repo, don't use contrib and non-free at this time (or just comment out "fixes" for now,

What's the problem with nvidia-driver?

with

deb https://packages.siduction.org/fixes/ unstable main contrib non-free non-free-firmware

it installs fine.

I have

nvidia-detect/siduction,now 535.146.02-0siduction1 amd64 [installed]
nvidia-installer-cleanup/unstable,now 20240109+1 amd64 [installed,automatic]
nvidia-kernel-common/unstable,now 20240109+1 amd64 [installed,automatic]
nvidia-modprobe/unstable,now 535.54.03-1 amd64 [installed,automatic]

but

nvidia-persistenced/unstable,now 525.85.05-1+b1 amd64 [installed,automatic]

and most of it is tesla-470

nvidia-tesla-470-kernel-dkms/unstable,now 470.223.02-2 amd64 [installed,automatic]
nvidia-tesla-470-kernel-support/unstable,now 470.223.02-2 amd64 [installed,automatic]

It's working fine at the moment.

Please check, why " firmware-nvidia-gsp-535.146.02" is not installable for you.
I have the "siduction-version" (535) of nvidia installed, too, like several others here, and no problems with it. Especially I have "firmware-nvidia-gsp-535.146.02" installed as "firmware-nvidia-gsp 535.146.02-0siduction1"! So again, what restricts its installation in your case?

Good luck.

:-X   Uppppps!  A fool who lives in my house failed to add non-free-firmware on the fixes repo.  :'(

Fix the repo, and the new driver comes in correctly.

nvidia-driver:

Ok, will check this too... I /think/ I added non-free-firmware, but this looks like a very plausible explanation...

qord

Well... added non-free-firmware to debian sources but not siduction. nvidia-driver installs fine now with the addition. Kaum macht man's richtig, geht's auch.

Going to put a brown paper bag over my head for now...
