Dear all

I am always very happy to use Siduction (laptop and tower), thanks to Siduction-team !
I have to install siduction on a new laptop and I have to use encrypted data.
I made a few years ago this kind of installation (with a link for a proper iso and instruction to follow).
Today I would like to know if it is possible to do with Calamares installer, the idea is to have
1) non encrypted /boot/ /boot/efi,
2) an encrypted volume with luks2 and if I remember lvm to have "partition" /root, /home..

Thanks for advance for your help

I had to create a new account due to my non-activity...

It is possible in Calamares with manual partitioning. You need to prepare the needed partitions before starting Calamares though.

But Calamares does not support LVM, it will encrypt the entire partition.

Thanks to your help and instructions (however the link no longer exists) I made this type installation in 2019 (or 2018 end).
It was more complicated to just 1) create partition 2) launch Calamares

I am sorry for this request, it's my employer who's asking encrypted data. Is there another solution than luks + lvm ?

one solution is to install zfs file system
zfs has encryption built in
very flexible
but
there is a learning curve
you'll need to RTFM
zfs on siduction  successful here for many years
Kernel versions often run ahead of zfs updates (apt-mark hold <kernel-version> is the fix)

There is no need for zfs, calamares can easy install on a encrypted device, xou only need the manual partitioning.
