What about Plasma 6.5? Or even 6.6?

We've been trying to get things together for a release in January, but it was not supposed to happen. As most of you know, we are a small core team, and two out of four of us are still heavily occupied with real-life chores. So we decided to postpone it towards the end of February. We have uploaded a stack of fresh images on https://testbuilds.siduction.org/.

And by the way, Plasma 6.5 is already available in the repos. We might or might not be able to integrate Plasma 6.6 in the upcoming release.

I'm very grateful that all the work is being put in to keep this at such a high level, so a delay is not, I would say, that significant a thing with a rolling release. Perhaps it might even be worth letting it lag a little more if it means fitting in Plasma 6.6? Only put the build work in for that rather than one for 6.5 now, another for 6.6 later?
Just a suggestion. I'm sure others have theirs.

We are a rolling release, and that is a good thing. Hence we are in no hurry. The situation with us being entangled in real-life issues is getting better. Right now we tend to wait on Plasma 6.6 in Unstable. Unfortunately, that might take a little while. Right now all we know is, that » lots of things break with Qt 6.10, so Plasma 6.6 in unstable is not for just now«. As soon as we know more about how bad this is, we might reassess our release date. My gut feeling right now is it might take 2-3 weeks for Plasma 6.6 to enter Unstable.

Als ich auf LinuxNews (https://linuxnews.de/was-ist-neu-bei-plasma-6-6/) las, dass Plasma 6.6 erschienen ist, hatte ich schon den Verdacht, dass ihr versuchen werdet, dies im neuen Release zu integrieren. Ich denke, dass dies ein guter Ankerpunkt für die neue Veröffentlichung ist. Lasst euch also die Zeit, die ihr dafür benötigt. Da Siduction eine Rolling Release Distribution ist, haben wir ja nicht wirklich großen Leidensdruck.

When I read on LinuxNews (https://linuxnews.de/was-ist-neu-bei-plasma-6-6/) that Plasma 6.6 had been released, I suspected that you would try to integrate it into the new release. I think this is a good anchor point for the new release. So take the time you need to do this. Since Siduction is a rolling release distribution, we don't really have any pressure to rush.

I know this isn't an answer to your question, but the existing ISO with a simple apt-update followed by apt dist-upgrade will also give you the latest version.
